Device Tree • vc4-kms-v3d overlays

If a config.txt contains dtoverlay=vc4-kms-v3d what mechanism tells the system that it needs to load the -pi4 or -pi5 variant based on the board. I'm not using RaspiOS, and I find that I need to manually select the correct variant for each board type to get the video drivers to load and function properly.
