Hi,
Ok, first post, unusual request, slight emergency, and I've no idea if this is the right place to post this, so apologies if it isn't, but I have a health problem with my left shoulder, apparently it's most likely being caused by arthritis in my neck. The problem comes and goes, but right now it's back with avengeance, which means I'm in agony at present when I try type with my left hand (right hand's fine), and typing seriously aggravates it, and I NEED to be able to type.. So, I need a one handed, right handed keyboard (no snickering, please)
Unfortunately I've searched both Ebay UK and Amazon UK (I'm in the UK) and can't find much. There's one handed keyboards for gamers, but I'm after full alphabet, uppercase, numeric and extra character functionality. I think what I need is a Microwiter(?) based "chorded" keyboard, that can give me huge amounts of key combinations with far less keys. And lo and behold, I found this design, using the Pi Pico:
https://www.raspberrypi.com/news/make-a ... uitpython/
The associated Github project at:
https://github.com/CrazyRobMiles/PICO-Chord-keyboard
I thought about trying to build it myself, but I'll be honest, my soldering skills aren't up to much and my electronics build experience very low, and chances are I'll order the wrong part, or run into some issue and would be still without a keyboard a month from now., and I'm really in dire need right now.
So, I was wondering, is there anyone out there in the community that could maybe build me one? Naturally I'd pay. Or maybe I'm in luck, and there could be someone out there who's already built one, but discarded it in a drawer, that I could buy second hand?
If either is the case, would £100 be enough? Quote me a price, please! Also, I could do with it within two weeks, if that wouldn't be too much to ask!
Thanks!
P.S. If this feels inappropriate for this forum, please let me know where I should go instead, thanks!
