Hi All,
First off, this pi is probably toast. I found it in a box that had "broken?" written on it.
That said, I perused the boot sticky, and this is the result.
0. Solid red LED with no SD card. To me this indicates that the PSU is adequate
1. Irregular (but mostly solid) ACT LED when booting with freshly imaged SD card via RPI imager on Windows. It is a 32 GB microSD, put into an SD adapter. After a few minutes, the ACT light turns off.
2. No lights flashing on Eth port, with it connected to the router.
3. Broadcom chip does not appear to be getting hot, but does warm up.
I get the rainbow screen over HDMI, then a blinking _ character, , then at least one time I got a Boot Splash "Welcome to the Raspberry Pi Desktop" where it was loading different systems at the bottom, but eventually the screen goes black and the ACT light turns off -- but it happens at different points in time..
Questions: Do I need some kind of antique SD card to write to for this? Can it boot from USB? What does this behavior indicate?
Thanks!
k
