I see in the release notes for the 2024-12-19 bootloader EEPROM image for BCM2712-based Pis:
I'm seeing the desired behaviour, i.e. fan not spinning, while Network Install starts up, but once the embedded Imager loads, the fan goes to 100%, and stays there while Imager runs. I'm wondering if there is maybe a follow up fix in the pipeline for the Network Install image to enable a full fix?
[Tangentially related to viewforum.php?f=98, since that issue is apparently fixed in the same update to the bootloader EEPROM image].
(Emphasis mine).* Disable fan PWM GPIO between RP1 init and fan probe
Drive fan PWM GPIO high during early boot to disable the fan
until it is probed during the device-tree setup stage.
This stops the spinning at max rpm during network-install.
