Advanced users • Using rfcomm connection to trigger an event

A little background:
I'm using MIT App inventor to create an apk. The little app allows me to control an RC car via bluetooth.
The MIT stuff is done (huge pain and took turning rfcomm on when the Pi5 boots).
I have the serial and connection all sorted out, but what I'd like to know is the following:

Is it possible to have the bluetooth connection event trigger a file to open or restart?

Presently, I have to stop the file manually, close the bluetooth connection, reconnect to the pi, and restart the file.

The goal, once my phone connects to the Pi, the Pi triggers a file to either restart, or open/start (preferably the latter).
