Hello, I just got my pi 3 b+ yesterday and was trying to boot it up for the very first time today (so I'm brand new to all of this)
I got the raspberry pi insger on a computer running fedora through sudo dnf install
I wanted to set up a headless device as I just want to put pi hole on it to start and was told this was possible using the newer feature of the pi imager, so I set the OS on a 32gb sd card to be raspberry pi OS lite (32-bit) and edited the settings in the imager to enable SSH, configured the wifi settings, set up the hostname, etc
I insterted it into the pi while powered up and the ACT light started very dimly flashing regularly, so I said to myself "it's reading it"
I left it for like 10 minutes and it was even dimmer but still flashing, when the power turned off accidentally
I connected it back to the power, but now if inputting the sd card, the ACT light flashed as strong as the PWR light but on a pattern of: three slow green blinks of ACT light with PWR light consistently on, both ACT and PWR turn off at the same time, flash dimly once and start again with the three blinks and PWR being solidly on
From what I could read, this could mean that start.elf is missing, so I brought the sd card back to my pc, reformatted it using the imager (into FAT32) and re-flashed the OS onto it, but when putting it into the pi and powering it, the same morse code pattern keep appearing
What should I do?
Could this a problem with my pi or the card?
UPDATE:
When trying to connect it to a PC through HDMI, when putting the card on and no power being received through J1 PWR IN (the micro USB port), but being apparently powered through the HDMI, the PWR light stays solidly on and the ACT light start to blink consistently with no apparent pattern and full brightness
Is it a known problem that receiving power through 2 different outlets causes a booting error?
